Forget Fabio!!!

We certainly can make better book covers than his! This is a Sims photo challenge. You need to capture a photo of your Sims for a romantic book cover.

*Your photo can be of anything - but Sims must be included

*The photos can be risque' - but let's limit them to a PG-13. (NO pornographic images please - they WILL BE removed)

*The photo can be Photoshopped - or edited with any photo editor program

*The book title can be a real book title - OR a title you make up

*The winner of this challenge is who's book title best matches their book cover photo

*Sunday, August 30 is the LAST DAY that submissions to this challenge will be accepted. UPDATE - In light of the knowledge that some people are overwhelmed with children during the summer - the submission date is being extended in order to let parents get their young ones back to school. The new submission date November 15.

*Book Covers will be voted on by Members of the Forum

This sounds like one I can manage to do! So the goal isn't to copy a cover using the sims, but to make a totally new design? I'll have to start searching for ideas...

Hey Em -

Sims need to be part of the cover and the cover can be ANYTHING you want.

The book can be a real book or a title you make up (which could be more fun).

I'm really hoping a few will participate in this challenge. I plan on taking part and have so many wild ideas in mind. I might submit more than one!!!!

I would love to participate in this challenge, but I absolutely have NO IMAGINATION when it comes to things like this. I might be able to create two sexy Sims, but as far as setting everything up, figuring out the perfect background, doing any decent photoshopping and making it look even remotely acceptable and appealing ... YIKES! That's not my strength at all.

My creative talents are extremely limited in this department, unfortunately. I don't think I'd be able to come up with something good enough to enter, truth be told.

But...I'm definitely going to continue with the Duggar challenge and eventually, will be starting up the Liz Taylor one!

I'm glad you said you might do more than one, because maybe I will too if I get really ambitious and find the time. Does it need to be "a romantic book" cover for this challenge or can we do other story types too?

I'm sure you would do a great job, if you tried, Sugah. But if you would rather spend your simming time on other projects I can totally understand.

The focus is mostly going to be romantic books - but that's so limiting. I'm interested in seeing how far imaginations can go with this challenge.

EDIT: Had to re-read the rules. As long as I can have more than one, I should be OK. I've actually got several different idea's, and I may use one that I already did......If that's allowed.

Now to find a romantic looking font.......ARRRGGHH!!!!

Is "The Joy of Jellybeans" a real book title, not one you made up? That's funny. It goes really well with your picture! lol

This challenge reminds me of the title image I made for my last episode of Arrendale Heights. It's in the romance category, so I'll go ahead and share it. I forgot to turn the anti-aliasing on for the letters so they don't look as smooth as they usually do.

The idea came from that book years ago, The Joy Of Sex.

There are a few things out there titled, The Joy Of Jelly Beans. I modified it a bit and made jellybeans one word not two. Plus, I added that slight pause.

Like I said, I'm only goofing around. I have something else I'm working on.

I was searching for some title ideas to work with and found some neat things. Here's a site that will generate a cover for you from any picture. Here's what I got, but I have to say, the ones we've done so far are much better.

I tried that site Em, and I got the tiniest picture. Must've been something I forgot to do.

The top picture is the actual picture. The other one, I erased the couple and now I have to second guess and put the entire backround in and then plop my couple on top of it.

So far, I'm about halfway done. (MediaFire doesn't do png files. I have to save them as jpg files.)

As it stands now, I'm doing the color picker, pencil, paint brush, smudge, eraser, color fill, a gazillion layers (UGH!), save project, chain smoke, run outside screaming like a lunatic, punch Phil for no reason, eating TWO bags of 42 oz. M&M's, yelling at my mother because I can't draw a straight line with my mouse (sorry, but I don't do straight....get it?!!? LOL

) ect. ect. ect.

No bloodshed...........................................yet!

LOL @ Ed. I hope it doesn't come to bloodshed! That's a neat idea, erasing the real people and then adding in sims instead. Hopefully your sims can take up most of the white space, so you don't have too much to try to fill in.

I'm not entering mine from that site into the contest either. I just wanted to share it for fun. Your picture looks way better in quality than mine, Sugah. Maybe I accidently used a thumbnail instead of a snapshot instead. That a nice picture though, if you just used that picture and put a title on it, that could work as an entry.

I need to start working on mine. I found a funny title under the "romance" section at amazon.com I'd like to try out. I generated and saved some random titles, I might try using and there's a cover I'd like to sim for a short story I wrote a long time ago. It's not a romance, but I actually drew a cover for it myself, so I think it would be neat to sim it, just for fun.

I still have to thank Hunter. She came with the idea of the one picture being turned into a wall art. I also have to thank Lady Z for the backrounds she made and Sugah, for turning it into wall art.

That seemed to be everybody's favorite picture. So, why use it again?
