Jacqui's Last Day

Jacqui's life had been on a downward spiral ever since she broke up with Emmanuel. He, as all the others, was not the "one". She couldn't understand why she never met Mr. Right. She was a successful pilot, as beautiful as they come, and great fun to be around. She did not need a man to take care of her; hell, she could take care of him. I mean, really, what man could provide a better house than this?

Elle's La Femme Family Saga LaFemmeEstate2

Why did she never find her Mr. Right? The answer came to her when she woke up in the work lounge yet again. As she struggled to get herself together and call a cab, she had an epiphany.

Elle's La Femme Family Saga Jacqui-Epiphany

While she waited for the cab to come take her home, she thought about the many days she woke up here after a flight instead of in her own bed next to a warm body. She remembered all the times the man in her life would ask her to join him for a picnic and she opted for overtime instead. She loved the excitement of travel, but not once did it occur to her that she could merge those two worlds. She went over the past week in her head and almost laughed at how pitiful her life was. Every day had one thing in common; she was always alone.

Elle's La Femme Family Saga Jacqui-Alone6 Just always alone...

Oh, there was always a fair-weather friend around to enjoy the amenities in her house; but they never stuck around nor did she want them to.

Elle's La Femme Family Saga Jacqui-Conversation

Why did she alienate herself? She was such a fool. But no more. She had one last flight in the morning; it would be totally irresponsible of her to quit at a moment's notice. But after that flight, she would be working no more. She would call all her children and see if there was any way to repair that which was damaged. She was not stupid; she knew it would not happen overnight. But all she wanted was a chance to make amends; she hoped they would give her that.

On the cab ride home, she went over in her head what she would say to them, to their fathers. She had behaved so badly, but it was time to make things right. She was so wired when she got home that she could not sleep; she stayed up the entire night writing in one of the many journals she had kept over her lifetime.

Elle's La Femme Family Saga Jacqui-Diary

She hoped that one day that her children would read them and see how she felt; perhaps maybe even understand her side of it even if they did not agree with it. She returned the journals to their hiding place and was startled to see that she had "written the night away". She got ready for her final day at work.

Jacqui watched her last passengers board the plane. These were the last people who she would fly anywhere. She felt a bit nostalgic, but she was so looking forward to the rest of her life.

Elle's La Femme Family Saga Jacqui-LastFlight5

Her children were all in different parts of Portland; she planned to spend a good while visiting them and working toward forgiveness with each and every one of them. She hoped they would come around but she could understand if they couldn't. She planned to spend the rest of her life making up for her absence in their lives. She boarded the plane.

Elle's La Femme Family Saga Jacqui-LastDayattheControls

As she sat at the control panel for the final time, she reminisced about all the good times she had with them at the beginning. She hoped she could find her way there again. She never got to realize that dream...

Elle's La Femme Family Saga 46446 Oh my gosh!

Well Elle, that was certainly worth the wait.

What an intriguing beginning. You've really succeeded in making me froth at the mouth, eager to read more and find out what happens next.

I'm very sorry we've lost Jacqui so early on - what a beautiful Sim. This is very tragic. All of it, her loneliness, her big empty house and her tragic end on the eve of repairing her relationships with her children.

Great story telling My Friend.

I can't wait to read more.

That was awesome, Elle and so well worth the wait! I love how you've set it up like a story and given us such an interesting beginning. I agree Jacqui was a beauty and it's a shame she met such tragedy before she got a chance to see her children again. I'm also amazed by the downloads you found to help tell the story. Very cool.

I feel like I'm saying everything, Hunter just said. lol

Anyway, you've caught my interest. I can't wait to see what happens next!

Bravo!

I would like to mention that while I would love to take credit for Jacqui's beauty, she was created by Sugah. I just tweaked her hair and make-up to suit my needs. If you want her, you can grab her here.

This is freaking amazing, Elle! Bravo!

First of all, I have no clue where you found the plane, but how great is THAT?
The screenshots were like nothing I have ever seen before in this fabulous game we love...so unique!
Awesome idea! I love that Jacqui was an independent, strong career woman ... a pilot yet!

I want to believe she could survive that plane crash (terrific screenshot, btw) somehow. Sigh.
Like Hunter has said, it IS so sad that just when beautiful, lonely Jacqui was making an attempt to renew & repair relationships with her kids ... tragedy strikes. Sorry

Thank you for using my Elizabeth as a base for your beauty. I am most flattered that you chose her, dear lady. Kiss

This is a wonderful, intriguing beginning, Elle. I love it. Not Worthy

Bring on the next chapter!

I don't know what to say...I am so glad that my story is being met with such positive feedback. Thank you so much Sugah, for your kind words and for creating such a beautiful sim for me to begin the story with.

The boarding plane is from Mod the Sims, an airport download; they rock, you can find almost anything there. The crash shot comes courtesy of Jasper @ Simvention. You can actually download the wrecked plane from them if you like, but I just used that screen shot since I only needed it for that one scene (I hope). If anyone needs it, I can supply the links.

Elle - I will tell you again how fabulous I think the beginning to your story is.

I thought Jacqui looked a little familiar - but I never would have placed her. She's beautiful in original form (Sugah's) and with your touch-ups. Again, I'm sad her role was so short-lived.

I hope I don't need this link.........but then again if certain Sims continue getting on my nerves......... Elle's La Femme Family Saga 721850

Duh! Embarassed
With all of the comments I made, did I make mention of the fact that I like your writing style, Miss Elle?
I love how creative & innovative your storyline is and am envious of your tale telling skills.

Hell. I couldn't even think of a quasi-decent history for our Simsibs.
I wanted so much to do so, but weaving a good story is definitely not my cup of tea.

You're right about MTS2, btw. I've always had the best luck finding terrific downloads there.

I love MTS2. They are my go to place whenever I need something in particular. I once downloaded a bulldozer from there for a story scene. I didn't know what I was going to do if I couldn't find one there.

Don't feel bad, Sugah. I couldn't either. I'm too busy thinking forward, I guess. Luckily we have Elle and Hunter's great background to read about!

Thank you so much for the compliments, ladies. I really wanted to come up with a plausible explanation as to why we all look so different, but were sisters.

Sugah, I know that I am enjoying seeing the story of our siblings being told from so many different points of view. You came up with this idea, and it is really great fun and a great learning experience to see how differently everyone plays their game.

This was a really good story, but it ended a bit sad for Jacqui, but what can one think about a story by name Jacqui's Last day!? I said this before, Elle you are clever, You do good things! I like to read your story! is it not also a reminder about that life can be, and are short, and people that say I just have to do this first, or have so much money before... can miss their whole life? I mean, when the children are small they really want to be with you, and your their hero, very soon that changes. And then when one have done all the important things, the are teens or worst, grown ups, and because one never was home, they don't have so much understanding for the fact that you love them and now want to be with them, its to late!
Jacqui had really been away for ever and always, sorry when she understand that her whole life was a lie, she should die...

Very good my friend! Elle's La Femme Family Saga 38156
