| I guess I'm just not a gambling gal, Em. I worry that something I've worked hard for will be lost, if I make the wrong choice on a Chance card. | |

| The chance cards were good fun in the beginning, but I have played that often, that hitting the right answer is no contest these days, just now and again the game has a glitch and you get fired even when giving the right answer and getting the bonus. If they get fired, the Insiminator has them rehired in the same carreer at the right level for the next day. | |

| I guess I don't care as much if they accidentally lose their jobs and have to start over again, because if it was more important to me, I wouldn't gamble with it. Like Russ said, I can always cheat to get them their jobs back if I really want to. I didn't know there was a right or wrong answer. I thought I read that one choice was supposed to have a higher percentage of having a positive outcome and the other would have a high chance of being negative. I know I've picked the same answer at different times and had different results. | |

| I thought it was a crapshoot, too, Em...no right or wrong answer...just chance! I don't play with hardly any hacks at all, nor do I cheat much, and since I work hard for my Sims to climb high in their careers...I'd hate to lose that. I'm not even crazy when the wrong answer causes my Sims to lose a few skill points they've worked so hard for. | |

| That is where the aspiration points come into it, there is one where you are 80% right all of the time.
I like hacks, it gives me more time for fun and less of the boring bits. My pet pieve is the length of time of pregnancy, baby and child, stuff that, two days and their a teenager. I hurry up the pregnancy, give them life skills by nearly filling up the tube and letting a parent finish it up, let them get three charisma, logic and creative points, grow them up to child, send them to school for a day, come home teach them how to do homework and grow them up to teenager, less hassles.

| I don't cheat much when I'm doing just regular playing (as opposed to storytelling). So my sims almost always make it up the career ladder the hard way. It's pretty rare for my sims to make it to the top of their careers, actually, since I tend to focus more on their families and social lives. I can go with a job loss pretty easily. I think I would be more upset with a skill point loss, now that you mention it, because that is time consuming. If they lose their job, they can always get back on track and since they already have the neccessary skills, it's easier for them to work their way up the second time. Sometimes I take it as a sign that they need to switch to a different career, as you will see with one of our simsibs, the next time I update.
I do like playing with hacks sometimes too, because it gives a different kind of game play, especially things like ACR. It can make it almost like a whole new game.

| The skill building is easy, you can get a Computer that gives a skill point in a fifth of the time of normal or you get the Sim to do the skill building and use the Insimenator to add one at a time, so you get the memories and aspiration points etc.
My La Femme family actually has two of the computers and the siblings are doing extremely well using them, but it is intersting doing the switching for needed skills.
I don't have ACR, but I have something similar if not a bit more advanced and on a 13+ site it will stay on lots away from the La Femme abode.

| It's funny which things in the game people find tolerable, and which they don't. I can't stand making friends. Having to have 50 friends to get up to the top of the career is so tedious for me, that I'll often burn out and quit playing altogether. So I have a no friends need for promotions hack installed. Makes the game much more fun for me. I also have a hack installed so sims don't have to empty the potty chair before it can be used again. And a few others, too, lol. | |
