| I'm OBSESSED with Apartment Life and all of the possibilities - and for whatever reason - I LOVE the lots and have decided to make my own. I should say ATTEMPT to make my own. Now - this is VERY RAW and TOTALLY unfinished, but I like it so far. It's Galena Place. There are 3 individual homes and there will be a clubhouse on the lot. I like amenities and I plan on having them in Galena Place. No windows yet, still working on interiors (I'll use only Maxis items except walls and floors, except special occasions) but I'm pretty pleased with the buildings. I want them to be very different but comfortable. They're probably going to be more on the high end of rentals - especially the big green house with the bedroom suite. Anyhoo.......that's something I've been toying with. I hope to offer it soon. I'll have to complete it and test it in a fresh game. Hopefully people will like it. | |

| Hunter, this is so cool! I haven't installed AL yet, as I've told you. I will probably wait til Jeremy can help me get set up with my main puter, as that one has more hard drive space and a fabulous graphic card.
I like what I've heard so far about AL and look forward to seeing all it brings to the game.
That being said, you are off to a good start. I would be most honored if, inevitably, you would like me to create some new walls & floors and do a few Maxis recolors for any of your apartments. I know you are perfectly capable of doing your own recolors (based on your fabulous Bob Masse posters), but if I can put together a few things in particular for you, I'd be happy to. I would just need to know from you what you are needing specifically, and of course, a little time to create it for you. It'd be a fun project for us to work together on, if you're interested and willing, dear lady.
Good luck with your newest endeavor! Great idea!

| I myself......am NOT a fan of living in apartments. I realize millions do and millions disagree with me - but that's just my personal thing. I live in a townhouse and I really love it. It feels like a home - but I'm NOT surprised with things I have to fix. I call the landlord and let him worry about it. I have NO SKILLS. I can hook up an entertainment center, assemble a fan, hook up a stereo system........but there will be NO lawn mowing, NO roof fixing, NO shoveling by me. That's what I think about THAT stuff. YOU might catch me on a chair replacing a lightbulb.........but now with the Big Tall German around - I probably won't even do that! BUT I do love PLAYING apartments. I figure I'll make some condos and townhomes first......then actually make apartment buildings. I have no idea - my mind is so scattered and everywhere on this topic. So Sugah - you KNOW I'd appreciate your participation and I will be calling upon you Mam! Thanks for the offer and your willingness to jump on board my crazy train. | |

| Let me get this straight... You have NO skills, but you can still hook up an entertainment center, assemble a fan, & hook up a stereo system? If you can do all of the above, you are far more skilled than I will ever be. Just cause you don't like doing hard, manual labor (mowing the lawn & shoveling snow), doesn't mean you have no skills, sista.
That being said, the thing I disliked about being in an apartment/owning a condo, is the walls are often too paper thin. I don't want to hear my neighbor (to the right) blowing his freakin' trumpet at 7:00am on a Sunday morn. I don't want to hear my nasty, angry neighbors (upstairs) stomping around and screaming at one another like maniacs at 2:00am, cause they are a huge accident waiting to happen. I rather need my space. That's all there is to it. And though I don't need an acre in the woods somewhere, away from all civilization, I don't want to share walls with anyone either.
Anyhoo, about your townhouse/condo AL project ... count me in. I've just bought a ticket on your crazy train, baby.

| That's what I love about my townhouse - no one below - no one above and no one to the south because it's the OFFICE. So that leaves the neighbors to the north.........it works out nicely because our townhomes are stacked differently - my living is next to their garage so except for the occasional garage door opening - I have peace and quiet. My only complaint with my neighbors was their BIG DOG and his BIG POOP not being cleaned from their back yard. After a few VERY VOCAL complaints to the management office and suggestions of how they should deal with them - the yard has been poop free for about 2 or 3 weeks. I imagine when creating my apartment, condos and townhomes - I'll keep in mind the things I Like. Quiet, privacy, little shared space as possible, amenities, etc. | |

I do!!! Maybe even more than one acre though. Sounds like heaven to me! I'd even be willing to mow and shovel to have it, but as I say that my only experience with lawnmowers are the riding type. Somehow I've gotten by without using the pushmower. Sorry I haven't commented on your apartments before, Hunter. They look really neat! I especially like how they have the shared clubhouse area. That should be fun.

Big dogs definitely poop big. That's for sure. I am glad your neighbors have started scooping their pooch's poop, Hunter. Not only is it icky to look at, but on warm days, it stinks to high heaven, too. - Quote :

I thought about you when I typed that part of my post, Em, as I remember you are a gal who truly appreciates her space. We had three acres in NE Pa. back when I was a teen. We'd take turns on the riding mower in our swimsuits, cause it was a great way to get a tan. I don't think any of us would've volunteered to mow all that property in the country, if we had to push a mower. EGADS! Fuggedaboutit!

| My parents had 12 acres, but I'm not sure how much of it I actually mowed. Some parts I never mowed because they were more sloped or rough and we usually just let them go wild most of the time. They sometimes used the pushmower just for trimming areas, like around the house or around trees. We use push mower at our house now, because the lawn isn't that big. Or I should say Steve does, because I haven't mowed our lawn. I'm too busy watching the little guy and he probably wouldn't let me do it if I offered anyway. | |

| Well......while playing the Fuggars, I thought I'd pop in and work a little more on Galena Place. I've been focusing mainly on the main unit of the complex, "Verde". It's the only one with a master bedroom suite - which is on the 2nd floor. Off of the bedroom suite is a deck that has a hot tub. The master suite features a sitting room - which I LOVE for a bedroom to have. The bathroom is large and luxurious with a walk-in shower for two and a water closet. The downstairs features a large open living/dining/kitchen. It also has an office, one bedroom with a private bath and a guest bathroom. And the Piece de resistance.......... The unit has it's own lap pool. I don't know much the unit will be yet as I'm still not quite finished. I'm having fun with this and hope it's a property people will want in their game. | |

| Sugah! I have to make at least ONE big unit per complex because I know what I like in a living space. I did small for a few years - and it's just not for me. I like flow and movement and stairs and separation. I hope it's a success. | |

| I'm big on wide open spaces ... not small, formal, stuffy rooms. I often wonder if I could live in one of those renovated warehouses that are turned into ONE big huge, open living space ... ... with a VIEW, of course. BTW, upon playing AL last night, I got a wild hair to build a complex or two, too. (Not necessarily to offer at Sugah's Place, mind you ... just for fun initially.) That'll be down the line, though, as I will be exploring and just enjoying my new EP for awhile. So much Simming ... so many ideas ... so little time! I've been thinking about a little gift I might send your way ... something special for your Galena Place. | |

No, but thanks for playing. I need to know a couple of things before I divulge anything ... Are you going to keep the current wall coverings you've chosen in Galena Place? And do you already have furniture in your mind's eye for the apartment? In other words, have you already decide WHAT you are going to fill each room with? If not, do you have a chosen theme/style?

| Apartments are fun to make, but they do take a long time. I really like what you have done so far. I personally when I make apartments do separate little houses. Condo type. Have lived in apartments and I despise them. My most recent neighbor in my old apartment building was an abuser, and I had to call the cops about ten times in the few months they were there. The cops did nothing, finally the management kicked them out. Unfortunately that didn't get her away from him. But at least when I called the cops he left her alone for a few days. But anyway i tend to wander off, I cant wait to see more, and feel free to use my no care flowers at NS in your lots. They have a high room score and sims will not walk through them, nor the dogs, and in apartments when the landlord doesn't take care of the flowers they die,and cant be replaced. they are here: http://www.naturalsims.com/garden.html | |

| Wow Frogger - that is so awful about your neighbors. I HOPE that if she hasn't already - one day she finds the strength, will and help she needs to get away from him. I want to thank you for your generous offering of your no care flowers in my apartments. I will check them out!! | |

Hunter, I'm so sorry. With everything going on these days, I completely forgot about my offer for a Galena Place gift. If I'm not too late, by the time you're ready to share your apartment complex with the Simming community, I'll do my best to come up with something special for it. Now, I just need to find that PM!!!

| Hey Nina - thanks for the compliment. I fear the ETA is probably going to be as late as the first week or so of August as my niece will be visiting for most of July. I have updates already done and packaged to tide the site over until her departure - but I won't be "working" much other than updating. Sugah - no worries on Galena Place as you've just read. I appreciate the offer My Friend and I'm in no rush to complete it. I'll try to find the message and re-send it to you too if you haven't found it. | |
