I thought I'd begin with one of my favorite songs.
The song is "Lost" by Anouk - and this is a live performance of it. It just moves me and her live performance of it can bring me to tears when the mood strikes me.
I hope you like.

Hey Z -
I'm so glad you like her.
That's really the whole point of this thread - is to maybe turn someone on to something they never knew existed.
I literally listen to that song almost everyday and I love it everytime. It just moves me.

Hunter, I tried to listen to Anouk's live performance, but this monitor has a pathetic speaker. I can play cds off my Windows media player with no issues. And my game sounds perfectly fine. But anytime I try to listen to someone's myspace music or you tube videos, they are full of horrible static and play way too low for me to hear.
It annoys me, cause Bay loves to watch and listen to you tube videos. She keeps trying to crank the volume up to hear them, but the sound is just awful.
My friend, Jeremy, said he'd take a look at it. I could swear I have everything set up the right way, but you never know. It figures. I get this great, big, beautiful monitor, and the speaker distorts all sound. UGH!
Anyhoo, I DID try to listen to Anouk, but after a minute, I couldn't stand the sound quality anymore. Sorry about that!

Steak and lobster tail ... now you are talking my language, baby!!! That is one of my absolute fave, fancy dinners. (Don't forget the melted butter, please.) I love asparagus spears & rice pilaf with it, especially.
Do you snorkel? My hubby does. He loves it. He is a scuba diver, too, though he hasn't gone on a dive in awhile. He always does some snorkeling whenever we go to the Hawaiian Isles & the Caribbean and has seen some amazing, beautiful aquatic life throughout. This last time, we got up early and went to Kauai's Poipu Beach. It is where we also saw a couple of endangered Hawaiian Monk Seals sunbathing/resting on the shore, as well. Awesome stuff!
I hope you get to go to the Bahamas this fall. Let me know what you think, as that is on our list of possibilities for a full-fledged "bring the whole fam" vacation in a couple of years.

I LOVE snorkeling.
I've been to the Bahamas Sugah - and I recommend it HIGHLY. I LOVE IT. The first time I went was with my entire family. Taylor snorkeled too - we were so worried about her - but she took a deep breath, stepped off the back of the boat and then we couldn't even keep up with her. She was fearless and remains so today. It was the most awesome moment as a family we've ever spent and I would recommend it to you with NO reservations.
AND - YOU should snorkel. There's nothing like it. It's hands down one of the most awesome things I do, if not THEE most awesome. Brian's never been and I really want to be able to go with him.

I love Wayne too.
He's such a Yummy man. He's talented, smart, so funny - and obviously just a fabulous definition of man if that's how he feels about his ex-wife and their family.
I wish ALL divorces could go like that........I actually wish there wasn't a need for divorce - but since there is - that's how they should go ESPECIALLY if there are children involved.
Oh...........I can dream.

I like Anouk!
I like lobster but I have never had it with a steak.
I have been to the Bahamas, but I didn´t snorkel. That´s a nice island.
Wayne´s song was very beautiful. He is a new acquaintance I haven´t heard this singer before.
thanks.

I don't know why........I hadn't listened to this is a LONG time - but I played it on my IPOD while going into relax, wind-down mode.
Eva Cassidy was a lovely singer who died of Malenoma in November of 1996 at the age of 33. She'd battled the disease for a few years before succumbing at her family home.
I heard this song and others by her BEFORE I knew of her death. I found her voice haunting. It moves me everytime I hear her. I was not aware of Eva Cassidy when she died, but I know the world became a little emptier when her voice left it.
The following is the last song she ever sang to a live audience (this is NOT the performance). It is one of MY favorite songs EVER. It is "What a Wonderful World" made infamous by the late, great Louis Armstrong. I NEVER understood my father's love for this song until I got older and wiser.
The world is filled with so much ugly - but it has so much beauty. I have hope for us all.......
Oh what a melancholy mood I am in this early morning..........
You tell them that our lives can change with every breath we take... and tell 'em to hold on like hell to what they've got. You tell them we've all got meanness in us, but we've got goodness too. And the only thing worth living for is the good. And that's why we've got to make sure we pass it on. --From Where the Heart Is

Weddings on the beach are so beautiful. Everytime we go to Hawaii, we see quite a few taking place. Sunset weddings are the trickiest, cause the skies there aren't always cooperative. Often, cloud coverage ruins the sunset and therefore, the sunset photos wedded couples are wanting.
Anyhoo, I wouldn't mind renewing my wedding vows on a white, sandy, palm-laden beach in Aruba. I love that desert island!
That is one neat looking building, Hunter! WOW! What a unique design! It really appeals to my eyes.

This video is from awhile back. It was a tribute night to country singer Reba McEntire where some of her biggest celebrity fans sang her songs to her.
I'm NOT the biggest Reba music fan - but I do like this song and I love her. I think she's a classy, successful, spunky and sweet woman.
The performance is by Martina McBride - who vocally I love and Kelly Clarkson - who is just an awesome young talent. I hope you'll give it a listen.

I keep saying that I am going to watch this, but have not gotten the chance. With your endorsement, I will have to try harder. Everywhere I turn, people are talking about this show. I kind of hate to get involved with Fox shows because they have a history as a network of not giving things a chance. I have made exceptions, though, and this show may have to be one ot them.

I don't watch much tv (hubby taped Fast Forward on the dvr for me, but that's about all I'm really watching these days). I need to look into Glee, if you like it so much, Hunter. I've never heard of it!

This show is a great long distance bonding experience for my niece and I Sugah.
She loves it because it's high school - which she's in. She loves it because she's been singing since she was 1 and the show is about the Glee Club. It's funny. I love it because it takes me back to my youth and watching Fame. I watch it here and she watches it back home and on Sundays we discuss it.
The music is great, the story is cute and funny and the teacher is a Cutey Patootey.
I LOVE it.

This was a song I think I wore a hole out on a CD many years ago when I first heard this song.
I think with the economy in the state it's in right now - it's very poignant today and it actually got a tear from my own guy. We've been playing eachother favorite songs the past few days.
