| It is extremely difficult - for the first week. After all the babies and toddlers grow up, which they'll all do in the first 6 or 7 sim days, then it's not nearly as hard. Then you just have a bunch of kids. It's still chaotic, but they can do a lot more for themselves. I found that I was easily able to add another toddler each Monday - because by then it's the only one little one. And my game crawled through it, lol, but I liked it quite a bit. Might even try that insanity again, too! | |

I took a peek, my friend. I'm thinking a baboon's tongue might be the better deal.

I started something new last night. I'll go post it in my thread.

| Subject: I actually played my Sims tonight! April 8th 2009, 12:46 am | |
| I only have a moment, as it's late, but I wanted to post this tonight. I FINALLY was able to load up my game and actually PLAY today. It's been a very long time, as it seems like everytime my game is loaded up, I'm snapping screenshots of SP creations rather than ever playing. Seems to me that's why I bought the dang game to begin with ... to actually PLAY it. Anyhoo, I'd like you to meet Megan Barthelomew. Megan is a Virgo ... very neat, active and shy ... & a Knowledge Sim. She is very studious & in the Intelligence career. Megan has lived alone most all her life. I am playing with very few downloads, as I've emptied out the folder for fast & easy loading. I'm sorta adding items as needed (Shop at Home Rack, genetics, etc., etc). One of the lovely ladies who's lived in the hood forever is Maggie Valentine. Maggie is a Cancer ... neat, active and nice ... & a Family Sim. She is also in the Intelligence career. Maggie and Megan have triple chem, much in common, and absolutely adore one another. Previously, Maggie was engaged to a local named Robi Ryan. (He met a very surprising demise by flies. Whoda thunk?) Maggie was never quite content in her relationship with Robi ... she always felt like something was missing ... and then she met Miss Megan. They hit it off immediately, fell deeply and passionately in love and have moved into Megan's humble little house together. My mission: To not use any cheats, including the money, aspiration level, max motive or motive decay cheats. So far, I've done quite well. The ladies don't have much and it's slow going, but my ultimate goal is to have them build up their bank account, arrive at the top of the Intelligence career, get engaged & joined to one another, build a bigger, better abode, then adopt a child or two. Inevitably, I'd like them to become grandparents, but the clock is ticking on their lives, so my MAIN goal now is to have them continue to earn enough money to accomplish the things I have in mind for them. As I said, it's slow going, but I'm enjoying doing this whole thing cheat free. And I like Megan and Maggie a lot, too! | |

| They are really a lovely couple. I wish you and them luck with reaching their goals and aspirations. I do not have the patience to play without SOME sort of cheat. And I HATE letting my Sims age. Real life is brutal enough. I'm so glad you got a chance to play My Friend. Maybe with the long holiday weekend I'll actually play....... | |

| I used to be a lot more hard pressed to allow my Sims to grow old. Some are easier to let evolve into seniority than others. That's for sure. I've been doing well so far not using my usual cheats. Two that come natural to me, without thinking, are maxmotives and aspirationLevel. I tend to rely on those too much. Sooo... I've set my mind to NOT doing so. It'll be more challenging when Maggie and Megan adopt. I'll probably have them take on kids, not toddlers, if I'm gonna continue not to cheat. Not sure if I'd be up to that without being able to max out everyone's motives once in awhile. Anyhoo, I sure do appreciate you taking the time to comment. Thank you, ma'am. And I DO hope you get to play this holiday weekend. I'll be busy with lotsa family stuff, so I doubt I'll be on the puter too terribly much til next Tuesday. | |

| What a cute couple! I like both of the ladies' hairstyles, especially Maggie's. You know, I have never had a same sex couple in The Sims 2. I'll have to try that sometime. Maybe if I roll up a family for the prosperity challenge with two men or two women adults, that will be a good excuse to have one. | |

| Megan is an absolute doll. They both are, actually. Very pretty sims. And congratulations to not cheating. I wish them a life full of happiness and success. The Intelligence career pays pretty well, so it won't be long until they reach a more comfortable standard of living. And triple chem - can't beat that! | |

Em, I can find out whose hair Maggie's is, if you'd like. Something tells me it's either Helga's or from RoseSims, but don't quote me.
You know, normally I don't create Sims knowing which way they'll swing. The more I played the lovely Megan, it just came to me that she was gay. It happens like that for me, more often than not. And Maggie just felt "right" for her.
I don't know when I'll get to play again ... hopefully, tonight!

| I've played gay characters before but I wish I had screen shots of my beloved Dennis. My niece was visiting last summer and we both created Sims that lived next door to each other. She created a Sim Self as an adult AND Justin Timberlake - her future husband. I created....... Dennis. Dennis kind of resembled Dennis Rodman and was just a rude, crazy guy. He wore crazy clothes - he had pink and purple hair - multiple piercings - just a hoot. The funny this is he visited my niece and Justin and hit on JUSTIN!!!! Now what's funny isn't that Dennis was gay - but that my niece is die hard when it comes to her love for Justin Timberlake and the fact that my Dennis was SO STRANGE AND hitting on her man. It was just the funniest because he was BEYOND rude to my Sim Niece and VERY friendly to Justin. He'd flirt with Justin - then snarl at my niece and knock over their trash can. She'd get so outraged and was begging me to make Dennis move, but I was like "no can do.". Oh how I wish I'd had screen shots of our play. | |

| I like the looks of Megan. When I first saw her, librarian popped into my head. Maybe I was thinking of Barbara Gordon/Yvonne Craig/Batgirl. (boy, did I just age myself.)
When I play, the only cheats I use are, Auto Pay Bills and Turn Aging Off. Those come with InSIMenator. Other than that, a very vanilla game. I did find a hack that stopped visitors from coming by, and I stopped the paperboy from delivering the paper. For some odd reason, when he came by, my game would come to a grinding halt. Oh, I do use the Family Funds cheat to give them just enough money to buy their house with a few dollars left over.
I'd love to see how Megan and Maggie progress. It should be interesting.

| Thank you all, for taking the time to comment on my newest family. I appreciate the feedback mucho. Before I forget, I found the hair at RoseSims2, Em. It's here, if you're interested. Hunter I was amused at the gameplay with your niece. This, in particular, got a giggle of of me: - Quote :

Ed, when I look at my reserved, ultra conservative Virgo (Megan), I often see a "librarian type", too. I only got to play a little last night before I fell asleep at the puter. Maggie and Megan are very happy together and are now engaged. They get along splendidly, as I said, and are VERY LOW maintenance. You know how you can have some Sims that you're constantly having to look after? It seems like their needs rarely stay full very long? Well, these two are just the opposite. They have ample time to study, make friends and goof off, cause they DON'T need much tending to. I wonder why that is sometimes? I've had households of only ONE Sim in the past that've sucked the LIFE out of me. It's a full time job just seeing to that kind of Sim's basic needs, let alone have them do anything outside of that! Anyhoo, here are the happily engaged pair. Megan's pjs are Hunter's Zodiac jammies, which you can find in my gift section (pg 3, I believe), at Sugah's. Another shot of the Zodiac pjs from Basic: Maggie's pjs are by yours truly. Maggie is not nearly as conservative as her fiancee, but still not terribly flashy or sexy in the way she dresses either. Close up of Miss Maggie: I've since located far more modest skivvies for my reserved Virgo. She's not the lace bikini type (as she is shown wearing in the pic below, before I gave her a tank and undies to wear instead). I haven't had a Sim wash windows in a long time and just happened to catch Megan shining the front windows, while she thinks of her beloved fiancee, who is behind her napping. Can you say, "awwww" ? Currently, they are trying to get promotions and build up their bank account. Still haven't used a single cheat. The only hack I have been using is the Shop at Home Coat Rack, which I could NOT live without. I AM enjoying these two and hope to see them through a couple of adopted kids and a bigger, better abode. I don't know if I'll get to play anymore this weekend. It depends on what's going on around here, family-wise, for the holiday.

| That is funny, Hunter. Especially your niece's reaction to wild and crazy Dennis trying to steal her man. lol
I wonder why sims are low maintenance and other aren't. I've seen that in my game too and it's definitely a plus when you don't have to babysit them all the time. I wonder if it has to do with personality points?

| I don't know if it has anything to do with personality points or not. I rather doubt it, Em, since it I've had all signs either be too needy or very easy to care for. I haven't seen a pattern, but may start paying closer attention to my Sims astrological signs, just to be sure. I'll be curious to learn that, one way or another!
Did you catch the link to Maggie's hair that you commented on? I wanted to make sure you saw it, my friend.

| Michael, TJ and Charles are very, very low maintenance. Since I always play with Free Will on, I really don't have to do anything. I just let them go. The only thing annoying that they all do is, want to take a nap on the sofa. I'm thinking, the very first time they sat on it, they found out how comfortable it was and thought it would be a nice place to nap. I have to cancel the action about six times in a row before a lightbulb goes off in their head that they should go to bed. The bed is so much more comfortable......SHEESH!
Washing windows must come with an EP I don't have. The only thing I can do with them is, Open All or Close All.

I don't think the option comes with any particular EP, Ed, but I could be wrong. Extremely neat Sims tend to do it on their own, randomly. It's not something we can tell them to do.

| The reason I said that was, with every new EP, you get new actions and interactions. I know with the few EP's I do have, Charles and Michael just love peering out the window. I've never seen any of them wash a window. Neither does the maid. Hence, my thought about that not being in an EP I have. I'm still seeing stuff I've never seen before. So, it still might show up. | |

That's one of the things I like best about the game. You can be playing for years and still discover new things from time to time.

| That's so true. I put that Little Shop of Horrors Plant in Taylor's game (my niece) once without her knowing what it was. The plant ate her Beloved Justin Timberlake. The look of horror on her face is STILL priceless. She had no idea. Being as devestated as she was though - I told her to just not save the game and Justin would live on. God I'm evil. | |

| And now back to our regularly scheduled program ... When last I left Maggie and Megan, they were engaged, trying to build up their bank account and moving up the Intelligence Career ladder. Today, my fair maidens were joined in a very private, intimate ceremony. "I now pronounce you: Maggie and Megan Valentine." The happy couple are both Field Agents currently (level 7) and have $14,284 in the bank. I caught Megan staring at her new bride, so I snapped it real quick. "You really think that looks like me, Maggie? Cause I'm just not feeling it, hon!" With only 10 days left until they became elders, I decided I'd better get a move on with the adoption process. It took me over a dozen times before I finally decided upon this little doll baby. I'd like you to meet the newest member of the Valentine household ~ Maura. I hardly have any downloads installed, so I'm going to find a few hairstyles & some new clothes that I think might work for Miss Maura. She came a pig-tailed red head ... uh, thanks, but no thanks. My next mission: To have Maura bond with her new parents, work on her skills AND to build & decorate the Valentines a brand new abode. I'm thinking I'm going to recolor all new stuff just for them ... to personalize their little love nest. Gonna jump in the shower ... stay tuned, folks! | |
