Announcement:

Recently, you may have noticed that when you download a file here at Basic, you're taken to another page. The file will download, but you won't be at the page you were at. For the time being, you will have to hit your back button after you download a file to get back to Basic. Forum Motion, our host, has changed a few things causing this slight inconvenience.

For your convenience, Basic will be working on changing our download links so that this does not happen. This will take some time, so until all of our links are changed, I hope you'll bare with us.

If you have questions, please feel free to PM me.

I just sent an e-mail to all members regarding the changes in Forum Motion's handling of downloads - thought I'd share it here too.

Dear Forum Members:

I am writing to you to apologize for the recent changes in downloads in the forum.

Our forum host site has made changes so that when you download something, you get taken to a separate page which shows an
advertisement. Basic has always paid our download file host service so that you would not be subjected to advertisements or taken to separate pages when downloading. Our forum host has overruled this ability and despite our best efforts, going forward downloads will always pop up on a different page.

I apologize whole heartedly for this and hope that it does not diminish your enjoyment at Basic or cause you to visit less often.

We will continue to keep watch of this new policy that our forum host has chosen and hope that they change their minds and allow instant downloading again. We will also keep searching alternatives to hopefully once again, bring you instant downloads.

Thanks for being a member of Basic and for all the support you've shown over the last 22 months. Basic has been a wonderful joy for me to have and I appreciate all of you more than I can ever convey in words.
