PostSubject: Computer Issues   April 28th 2009, 4:24 pm

Hello All -

A bit of news.

My computer is requiring major maintenance and I'm debating whether to fix it OR to just replace it.

For awhile - there will NOT be any updates as I'm unable to retrieve any of my creations or any of my work. I'm sorry for any inconvenience.

Please know - that the site is STILL running and I can still be reached.

I wish you all a wonderful day! Send Flowers

You know I can relate, girlfriend. I am STILL having issues with my main puter.
Don't know if I will be able to recover ANY of my data ... or if my hard drive still intends on dying once and for all.
It's a crappy deal to work so hard and accomplish so much, only to possibly lose it all.

I can empathyze with you and understand what you are going through now.
I just keep on telling myself ... "What can I do if I lose everything?" ... and the answer is always the same ...
"Nothing. I can't do a damn thing. If it's gone, it's gone."
It's up to me to decide whether I'm going to make myself sick over the loss OR just find my place with it.

I know you can relate to what I am saying and are going through the same exact thing now.
Please remember you can count on me. Whatever I can do to help, I will.

I will be sending positive thoughts your way, my friend. Hang in there.
Let's hope for the best! Crush

Sugah - THANKS for your support always Chica.

You have always been an awesome support system and a most generous friend & affiliate, dear lady.
Whatever I can do to help you, if it is within my power, I shall do it!

It looks like you wrote your most recent post before midnight last night, which means the PC dude has already shown up to work on your puter, as of this mornin'.
What's the verdict, my friend? You know we're pulling for you!!! Kiss

PostSubject: Re: Computer Issues   April 30th 2009, 4:20 pm

Thanks Gang.

Okay.......here it goes.......I'm basically getting a new computer so it will still be awhile before I can update.

My data has been saved - but my computer basically has to be restored and reloaded with all of my programs.

I'm actually OKAY. My data was what was important. He thinks IF I lost any - it was a small amount - so I'm hoping it's nothing that will affect my updates that are due or my future updates. I'm bummed most about Lady a Day in May which was supposed to start tomorrow. Sorry We'll see - maybe I can still do that because I think I've already uploaded everything to the server......not sure.

Anyhoo - it will be alright. I'm still optimistic - just bummed about being behind. I hate the thought of letting others down.

Hope all is well with all of you. You all are my ROCK. Yup

That's a relief!

See, the power of positive thinking does work!

Don't worry about everybody else, you had no control over the situation. Any understanding person knows that.

I'm just glad it was nothing really serious.

Well Ed........

It's $350 serious. Giggle

Still - I LOVE my laptop and didn't want to have to get a completely new computer.

My computer had to be Wiped and restored - but my PC tech believes that all of my files are fine and intact.

Everything APPEARS to be fine - BUT.......and here's the clincher. I have to re-install ALL of my programs. No biggie EXCEPT that I gave most of my EPs to my niece who lives 450 miles away. I won't be seeing her until this summer - so I went online and ORDERED 6 EPs from Amazon. They're all en route - but until then I won't be firing up my game. Could be up to 2 weeks. I can live with that. The important thing is my things are still there and intact (pray, hope, wish.....they appear to be).

Anyhoo.........I'll be able to do Lady a Day in May because I had already uploaded them to the server - but some of my clothing updates have to be postponed until I'm 100% functional.

Thanks for everyone's patience, kind thoughts and prayers!! Kiss

Hunter, that's a relief! I am so glad you have not lost any of your data.
That's great news.

Everytime I've had to do a restore on my puter, I've had to reinstall all of my programs.
It's a big pain in the arse, I know, but it's better than losing all our documents/pics and hard work!

I have a copy of some of my programs on disk, but others I usually have to go searching for.
I'm so glad you won't be out of commission for long.
Losing everything would've been such a hard, bitter pill to swallow.

Was it your hard drive? Did it crash?

I still haven't had time to sit with Jeremy and see if we can retrieve any of my data, since the last restore.
I'm not getting my hopes up, but I'm not losing sleep over the loss either.

I am happy for you, my dear friend.
Now, on with the show, lady!!! Show us your stuff! Giggle

PostSubject: Re: Computer Issues   May 3rd 2009, 8:02 pm

Thanks Z.

I think everything's fine - but there seems to be some oddities with my existing game files. Could be because I don't have all of my expansion packs back and re-installed yet........... This whole thing is driving me Crazy

After I have everything re-installed - I'll make decisions about the site. If for some reason I've lost my models.......... Mean (hope not) I may just start from scratch and create all new ones and a new logo and everything. Undecided. I need to relax and worry WHEN it's time to worry. I think I'm having issues because I don't have Seasons or Pets re-installed yet.

Okay - I'm off.

Thanks again for everyone's support!
