I thought if I started my thread, I would be all the more inspired to load up my game, finish our humble abode, get us all put together in CAS mode and get this party started tonight!

I'm sure enjoying yours so far, folks. Looking forward to joining you SOON!

Why, Miss Emily, I do believe that's the most assertive you've ever gotten with me, my dear! Sugah's La Femme Fam Adventures 247888

I've actually finally gone through all the posts, found our vital information, copied it all & pasted it in an email to myself.
I'm about to print it out, then load up my game and head for CAS mode.

I also am going to make sure the Victorian I'm renovating is doable - am worried two single beds won't fit into each of the three bdrms per their current size(s).
Can't remember how many bathrooms there are in it, but I'm thinking we'll at LEAST need 2 toilets.
(When we previously did this and had a full house, two bathrooms actually did the trick, I believe.)

I sure hope I don't have to build a home. That'll trip me up something fierce this evening.

I promise I will get my crap together by tonight and post more later, sista.
Sorry for the tease! Razz 2

Okay, okay! Sheesh! Giggle

I was only able to do as I'd set out to do (as stated in a previous post) this evening and nothing more:
Our sisters have all been created in CAS & the house is still a work in progress, but at least I've moved them unto the lot.
I played only for a little while. Nothing but a skill or two (per sister) was accomplished.

The La Femme Family choose a modest Victorian (stripped completely bare, except for plumbing) in Tres Lagos.

Sugah's La Femme Fam Adventures LaFemmeFam

This was the first thing I saw when entering the lot. The sisters all paired up and started schmoozing immediately.

I promise I will try to accomplish and post more tomorrow. I ran out of time tonight.

Thank you, ladies. This is a tough crowd, let me tell ya. Sugah's La Femme Fam Adventures Cheesy

Just a few thoughts...
Upon moving the La Femmes into the Victorian - which I had stripped down to be priced in the low $20,000s - I find I've almost got it decorated quasi-decently and a bunch of money remains. Sugah's La Femme Fam Adventures Sad
I was so hoping we'd have to wait, slowly earn skills, get careers & enough money to fix up ... which would take time and effort for our siblings.
I really prefer my families struggle and earn their keep, as you all know. Can't remember the last time I even wanted to use the money cheat.
Currently, I have thousands in the bank, and haven't used a single $1 download. (I don't think I have any in this puter anyway.)
I'd forgotten, because of AL, they'd start out with $45,000!
Anyhoo...Not sure what I'm going to do yet. May have to build something bigger (6 bdrms - 6 baths), so it'll be harder for them to fill it initially.

I'm a little disappointed with myself. I want so much to tell the Sim sisters story, but can not come up with anything yet.
I want them to have a history (like Hunter is establishing) and have a current tale to tell about where they are in their lives as adults as well.
But I'm coming up blank, dang it. I just don't have it in me to be a story teller, I guess. :(

I've decided I'm not going to pick the sisters' bedrooms out for them. There are three currently, so they'll have to bunk together, 2 x 2.
Last night, I waited til they were dead tired, so they'd go up and choose a bed themselves.

So far, this is what we've got...

Ari passed out first in the blue room, followed by Sugah.

Sugah's La Femme Fam Adventures Snapshot_182adeba_382b328d

Next was Em in the "shades of autumn" room, followed by Ulli, then Elle in the lavender bedroom.
The last one to pass out was Hunter, who took the only little bed left, in the autumn room with Emily.

Sugah's La Femme Fam Adventures Snapshot_182adeba_382b3300

Sugah's La Femme Fam Adventures Snapshot_182adeba_f82b33d2

I'll be curious if any of them gravitate to the same bed this evening.

It was also our youngest sister, Em, who used the kitchen for the first time in our La Femme sisters' new abode.
Here they are, sharing their first meal together.

I know, right! I'm not an assertive person, at all. I was in a teasing mood, I guess.

And your next post was more like it. I was satisfied with just the two pictures too. Sugah's La Femme Fam Adventures 642848

How much money did you start out with, Sugah? I'm kind of disappointed that things are going so easily for them in my game too and that nothing's really coming to me as far as storytelling or backstory. Hunter set the bar pretty high with her neat intro. I've decided to just play them and see what happens when I leave them to their own devices. That can always be fun too.

I like the Victorian house you've chosen. It's cute and the bedrooms are decorated so nicely too. I like the outfit you've chosen for Ulli. That green striped dress is really cute! That's so nice that they sat down and had their first meal together. My sims haven't served a meal yet. They just cook for themselves whenever each one is hungry.

Great start. Thank you for posting some pictures! Sugah's La Femme Fam Adventures 721850

How much money did you start out with, Sugah?

Apartment Life brought more starting funds to the game.
Until then, it was always $20,000, regardless of the Simfam size, as you know.

Every family in AL still gets $20,000 for the first adult/elder.
The family also gets extra for each additional Sim, based on age.
Each additional adult/elder adds $5,000 to the account.
Teens add $3,000, children add $2,000, toddlers add $1,000 and pets add $500.

With 6 adults, we, who have AL, started this project with $45,000.
That's too much! I almost want to spend money senselessly (buy a bunch of big, expensive trees, eg) to deplete the funds to nothing.
But I'm still pondering starting over with building a much bigger abode, as I said in my last post, too...

That is so surprising, coming from you, Emily.
I guess I just assumed storytellers like you and Ari always had a crapload of tales in your heads dying to be told ...
That at any given time, you could pick from some reserve tank of Sims stories stored up in your skull. lol

You've got that right, sista. Sheesh! Talk about your hard act to follow.
Like you, I've decided I'm going to leave them to their own devices and just watch at times.
It'll be interesting and fun, as you've said, to see what kind of trouble and fun they'll get into without our help.

That reminds me ... ELLE!!!
My Elle has gravitated towards the easel. Are you an artsy person by nature in real life?
Because her pre-destined hobby came up Arts & Crafts. Does this suit you or shall I change it?
She seems to like painting in her spare time, so I just let her be.
It's no biggy either way to change it to a hobby that seems more suitable to you with the Sims Wardrobe Hobby Adjuster.
Just say the word, dahling!

I wish! But no, I'm just playing them, watching what they do, playing attention to their speech bubbles. And that's helping me come up with some good stuff so far. But right now it's just day by day stuff, no big picture story coming to mind. I have to say I really like Hunter's idea of us all being foster sisters that are even closer than biological sisters. That's too sweet. :)

Maybe you should try to deplete their funds if you aren't happy with how it's going so far. In this case it's probably better to have the family funds determined in the pre-AL way. I can't believe I never knew that AL changed how much money a household starts with. I don't have that ep, but I'm still surprised that feature slipped past me.

Oh, you just reminded me, Sugah. In my game your predestined hobby started out as culinary. I didn't change it, because I thought it seemed suitable. I wanted to ask if that was ok with you or if you'd rather have me go ahead and change it to film and literature.

I think it's fun to interpret what they're saying by the little icons. Sometimes you can get some really random and unexpected stuff.

I know you like to share with us what's for dinner, Sugah and it always sounds great, so I thought culinary would be a good fit for you as well. I think I'll leave it at that, unless I get a feeling Sugah Sim should have film and lit as her main hobby. I'll try to let her pursue the film and literature hobby too, even though it isn't her "predestined" one.

Oooooh no no no. Actually right now I think my muse is dead. She lightly tapped my shoulder the other day for Victoria's story, but then she stopped, and I'm not sure how to proceed from where I'm at. And I certainly don't have any simstales in me right now. I'm wondering if I ever will again. =(

The blue room is probably what I would have picked in RL, or the lavender, but all your rooms are pretty. I loved seeing your screenshots and seeing what we're up to in your game.

I kind of regret, too, that things won't be as tough on our family as I had originally intended. They had all the money they needed. Things for them are tight right now, but everything they have is decent quality, and won't require much upgrading. And I still have yet to add new Elle to the house - she'll bring another $20,000 with her!

Good deal, Em. That's absolutely fine with me.
I'm assuming, if everyone has created me with 5s across the board in CAS, Culinary will be my pre-destined hobby in ALL of our La Femme sibs game.

I will leave it up to each individual, whether or not they'd like to change Sugah's pre-destined hobby to Film & Lit or leave it as Culinary.

Egads! Don't talk like that, Ari. I'm sure it's just a dry spell. It happens to the best of writers.
Something will inspire you one day and spark a new story in you or beg you to finish one of your current tales.
It may not happen this month or next, but have faith. You're too talented to suffer this writer's block forever, m'lady.

Okay, I know Em likes casual clothes & earthy type tones and probably looks best in them. Is that correct, Em?
What colors do you PREFER to wear, AF? Your Simself seems to look good in warmer colors that compliment her chestnut hair and eyes, though I think she looks pretty in pink, too.
Throw a few colors out there that you like to wear. I'm going shopping for our Sim sisters this week.

Elle, I know you prefer heels & jeans ... did I remember correctly? I couldn't find the post where you'd mentioned the colors YOU like to wear best.
Your Simself has that green headband. That's no problem. If I need to, I can recolor it to match anything I choose that I think your Simself will look good in.
Name your poison, sista.

I've got Hunter's and Ulli's info, so I'm okay with their preferences. Thanks, all!

What an adorable start Sugah!

I love our cozy little house and our color themed rooms. The lavender is my favorite, hands down. I'm actually amazed how you were able to strip the house so much for us to have that surplus of cash - considering the house looks so good. It's an inspiration.

I love how we all dined together. I have a feeling we won't be able to sit at a table for a little while. Sugah's La Femme Fam Adventures 308424

I've said this in other posts - but I'm so happy we're doing this. It's so much fun.

And Ari - don't say your muse has died. Say she went on a sabbatical or something. It's hard for me to imagine that level of creativity you have not coming back to you. You've already shown so much in your own Roomies posts.

Aw! I love my sim sisters! Send Flowers Thank you guys for your encouragement.

I am getting a little spark, but that's about it. And since I'm kind of against a wall, I'm not sure how to find the path I want again. So, I guess I'm closer than I was last month, but when I think of taking sim pics for stories, I still shudder. It's such a daunting task. =(

Color me up, sista! I like all kinds of colors. About the only colors I don't like are light pastels. That's about it. I like bold and bright, earthy, rainbow, whatever you think looks good on my sim is fine by me. Oh, I'm not hip on neon, though.

I hate when that happens. I'm sure you'll find a way around the wall eventually and your muse will come back to life, whether it's for telling simtales or nonsimtales. I think my muse is still hanging around. I just don't have time to listen to her or sit down with her and do the work. I had a little tapping a few weeks ago, but she's quieted down again. I'm sure you'll get through this. Like Hunter and Sugah said, you're too creative not to get it back sooner or later.

Sounds good to me. I tend to like earthy tones or darker shades (dark cranberry red or violet or black) rather than really bright colors or pastels. Although I used to have a lavender top, that my grandma would always comment on and say it was "my color" whenever I wore it. When I go clothes shopping I find myself drawn toward green a lot. Sometimes I have to make a conscious effort to look at something other than green so I don't have too much in my wardrobe. Whatever looks good on my simself, I'm good with. I don't know much about winter/summer color schemes etc.

I've always made that comment to you and Emily. I can NEVER understand how you two find the patience and tenacity to set each scene up exquisitely, then wait to snap the perfect capture!
I get impatient just setting up a lousy living room set to take pics of to showcase my downloads! Giggle
I admire your ability (and Em's) to do what you do. Believe me. I could definitely see how "daunting" a task it would be, when storytelling.

No pastels and no neons. Perfect! I am thinking I could see AriSim in some earthy shades and maybe a few bold ones, depending on how the color coordinates with her hair & skin.
This is a big help.

Thanks for confirming what YOU like, too, Emily. I appreciate it.
When someone says they are a "winter" or a "summer" it means this, btw:
Winters and Summers wear cool colors.
Autumns and Springs wear warm colors.
Warm colors are based on yellows, oranges, browns, yellowish greens, orangish reds, and the like.
Cool colors are based on blues, greens, pinks, purples, blue-greens, magentas, and blue-based reds.
Does that help at all?

Now I just need Elle to answer the question, too, and I'll be shoppin' for my sistas!

I played a little last night. I'm still decorating and doing landscaping and am still unhappy about having so much money left in the bank.

Hunter, the Victorian I'm using came with the base game (called Victorian Value - 3 bdrm/2.5 baths - it was originally yellow) and cost $23,877 as it was. I stripped it to below $20,000, if I am remembering correctly.
I should've bought a home worth $35,000 looking back, so I'd hardly have enough for plumbing and beds, but I had forgotten about the extra funds added to the fam acct cause of AL.
Still on the fence about what to do regarding them staying in the Victorian or moving to a house we're they'd be struggling more financially.

Anyhoo, I spent some time working on the outside, just so I could deplete their bank roll. Have a lot more to do of course, but this is a start.

La Femme Abode at Night

Sugah's La Femme Fam Adventures PM

Hunter is drawn to the chess board, just as Elle is to the easel. I find it interesting, since I know our Hunter is a big fan of the game in real life.
This is where I will find her, when she's not busy doing a menial task or studying something.

"Oh, honestly. I don't give a rat's patootey what you write in that diary of yours, sis. Hell, I live with you.

LOVE how you've X'ed me out of your thoughts in that diary Sugah. Very nice. Sugah's La Femme Fam Adventures 721850

I do like chess - so that is pretty funny. Where could one find that check-bottomed chess table, pray tell? I would like to know why though (Ari's too) I'm always in my underwear?? I so don't play chess in my underwear........usually. Sugah's La Femme Fam Adventures 308424

These are all just freaking hilarious to me.

Sugah - the outside of our Victorian looks so amazing in that night photo you took. I love the little reindeer. I need to do some Christmas shopping myself. I laughed out loud when I realized that was a Maxis house. I knew it looked familiar. I haven't played a Maxis house since I first started playing several years ago. The exception would be that I've revamped two Maxis houses for my Models to live in, in their hood.

I want to tell you My Friend - that I appreciate you getting the ball rolling on this project. It's so much fun - not just to play but to read what others do with it. Joy Joy Joy! Sugah's La Femme Fam Adventures 642848

Sorry I have been so absent of late but I really want to get this thesis out of my hands and into my mentor's so he can give me some feedback before I hand it in to the committee. I should be done by Friday, and hopefully will be able to finish and post my first installment by the weekend. IRT -

Sugah, going by your outline, I like winter colors. I am really partial to pastel pink and ice blue; those are my absolute favorite colors in clothes. Style-wise I never, ever wear skinny leg jeans; straight-leg or flares all the way. I cannot say why I liked the outfit I packaged Elle in, but usually those jeans would be a no-no; maybe it was the color. I wear mostly dresses or skirts in the summer or in a professional environment; I have said before and it remains true, I am a girly-girl. You'll already know that I don't wear sneakers, so I think that is it. In real life I don't paint, but I don't mind if my sim-self does. As I said, I can live vicariously through her.

Hmmm...why is Hunter always in her underwear? That is funny; maybe she just wants everyone to know it is clean and hole-free. Sugah's La Femme Fam Adventures 308424

Hunter is right, Sugah; the night shot of the house is amazing. I am looking forward to sharing my adventures with you guys.

Hey Now!

You never have to apologize for having a real life Elle - and a busy one at that. We're all here waiting when you're ready. You are worth the wait, Dear Lady. I absolutely look forward to seeing your posts.

I will keep in mind what you like to wear - I know about the pink. Me - I will wear almost any color. I do not like coral though. I'm not a sneaker person either - but that doesn't mean I walk around in my underwear. At work I like class, comfort and style. At home - do as you please. I see some of you took a lot of liberty with that. Sugah's La Femme Fam Adventures 683577

I keep looking at that night shot Sugah and I think it would make a perfect Christmas Card. Better idea yet - could you make a painting of it for us in game??? I would so like to put that over our fireplace mantel...........when we get a fireplace.
