| I'm so sorry - I totally spammed your thread, Sugah. That's what I get for trying to have a conversation in RL while setting up my post. Didn't take the time to start my OWN thread. Dork. _________________ Real life gets in the way of my computer time My Story Blog |

| That's perfectly cool, Ari. I thought nothing of it, but was just glad you were playing and enjoying Azura and her family. I'd love it if you'd start your own thread, now that you're getting back to playing again. That'd be awesome. I miss the days when we were all sharing our Sim families (OUaT, eg) and doing Sim projects together. We had so much fun! _________________ Specializing in CC recolors, custom walls, prime real estate, Sim models and so much more. ... Always free - Updated weekly ... |

| I miss it, too, but I honestly have a hard time getting into the game these days. But I did play for awhile yesterday, and I shall post some pics soon. _________________ Real life gets in the way of my computer time My Story Blog |

| I go in spurts with it, myself, so I can relate. I really want to get back into playing, though. I've been thinking about searching around for some fun challenges and maybe doing one that tickles my fancy. NO POVERTY CHALLENGES, mind you! _________________ Specializing in CC recolors, custom walls, prime real estate, Sim models and so much more. ... Always free - Updated weekly ... |

| I don't know if anyone has seen my most recent Sim antics post. I believe it got buried a page or so ago. Anyhoo, Hunter, I suck at thinking up challenges. Some are definitely more desirable to me than others. I am all about having a good old time with it, rather than wanting to tear my hair out over a challenge. Some have so many restrictions and rules, they make my head spin. I almost feel smothered just THINKING about doing a few of them. (Your Sim can never play chess on a Tuesday. They can't eat jello in front of another Sim. Your Sim must almost starve and pee all over himself daily, til you feel like you can't stand another second torturing the poor thing. They can, by no means, kiss their spouse unless he is being chased by bees gone amuck.) Well, you get the picture...some of the restrictions are enough to make me want to strangle the creator of the challenge. I think there's a bit of the sadist in some of them! When a challenge becomes more torturous than fun, I'm OUT!!! That being said, Thyme 2 Sim has almost two dozen challenges listed at their forum. We could look through a few and see if we can get any ideas for our own, here. There are game play challenges, photo challenges, construction challenges, and many other kinds. You can find them in the Challenge Corner over at T2S, if anyone would like to read 'em over. Just a thought... _________________ Specializing in CC recolors, custom walls, prime real estate, Sim models and so much more. ... Always free - Updated weekly ... |

| Oops, sorry I forgot to comment on your last antics update. Paige and Fox are an adorable couple. They are too cute! | Quote: | | Your Sim can never play chess on a Tuesday. And you think you suck at coming up with challenges? Oh, that made me laugh! |

Thank you, Em. They're pretty easy to deal with, too. I have their little place set up to accomodate a child or two and am looking forward to that next.

I'm glad I could make you laugh, my friend. The funny thing is, what I described is NOT too far from the actual rules of some of the more insane, over the top challenges.
Scary, but true. _________________ Specializing in CC recolors, custom walls, prime real estate, Sim models and so much more. ... Always free - Updated weekly ... |

OMG! I think I just about busted my gut laughing at this! I vote we try it! Sounds like fun!
Incidentally, I was trying the Poverty Challenge again recently, with my new sim Kendall. But I'll post about that in my own thread some other time.
I've always enjoyed the challenges we've done together as a group and shared pics of. But I hate building/decorating challenges, and don't care to do a photo challenge. I love playing challenges, but I like the hard ones, otherwise I get bored. But I'm game if you guys have one you're thinking about starting.
Oh! I have just the challenge for you, Sugah! It's WAY more fun than the poverty challenge. And it's also more fun than sucking tongues with a baboon. It's called the Orphanage Challenge And yes I tried it, and yes I had fun with it. I'd be willing to do it again if anyone wants to join me, lol!! And yes, I'm crazy. I enjoy the self flagellating nature of tough challenges._________________ Real life gets in the way of my computer time My Story Blog |

| Oh, I so want to do that challenge, Ari. I actually loaded up my game last night after I read that and started spawning orphans. But I messed up and somehow spawned an extra toddler. Now I'm not sure what to do. I don't need to make it harder from the get go. And I'm not sure how I'll find time to play, since they should like they're going to be a high maintenance household. I'm kind of afraid that many sims living on one lot is going to bring my laptop to a screeching halt. lol I really want to try it though. lol |

| It is extremely difficult - for the first week. After all the babies and toddlers grow up, which they'll all do in the first 6 or 7 sim days, then it's not nearly as hard. Then you just have a bunch of kids. It's still chaotic, but they can do a lot more for themselves. I found that I was easily able to add another toddler each Monday - because by then it's the only one little one. And my game crawled through it, lol, but I liked it quite a bit. Might even try that insanity again, too! _________________ Real life gets in the way of my computer time My Story Blog |

I took a peek, my friend. I'm thinking a baboon's tongue might be the better deal. _________________ Specializing in CC recolors, custom walls, prime real estate, Sim models and so much more. ... Always free - Updated weekly ... |

 | Subject: I actually played my Sims tonight! Tue Apr 07, 2009 11:46 pm | |
| I only have a moment, as it's late, but I wanted to post this tonight. I FINALLY was able to load up my game and actually PLAY today. It's been a very long time, as it seems like everytime my game is loaded up, I'm snapping screenshots of SP creations rather than ever playing. Seems to me that's why I bought the dang game to begin with ... to actually PLAY it. Anyhoo, I'd like you to meet Megan Barthelomew. Megan is a Virgo ... very neat, active and shy ... & a Knowledge Sim. She is very studious & in the Intelligence career. Megan has lived alone most all her life. I am playing with very few downloads, as I've emptied out the folder for fast & easy loading. I'm sorta adding items as needed (Shop at Home Rack, genetics, etc., etc). One of the lovely ladies who's lived in the hood forever is Maggie Valentine. Maggie is a Cancer ... neat, active and nice ... & a Family Sim. She is also in the Intelligence career. Maggie and Megan have triple chem, much in common, and absolutely adore one another. Previously, Maggie was engaged to a local named Robi Ryan. (He met a very surprising demise by flies. Whoda thunk?) Maggie was never quite content in her relationship with Robi ... she always felt like something was missing ... and then she met Miss Megan. They hit it off immediately, fell deeply and passionately in love and have moved into Megan's humble little house together. My mission: To not use any cheats, including the money, aspiration level, max motive or motive decay cheats. So far, I've done quite well. The ladies don't have much and it's slow going, but my ultimate goal is to have them build up their bank account, arrive at the top of the Intelligence career, get engaged & joined to one another, build a bigger, better abode, then adopt a child or two. Inevitably, I'd like them to become grandparents, but the clock is ticking on their lives, so my MAIN goal now is to have them continue to earn enough money to accomplish the things I have in mind for them. As I said, it's slow going, but I'm enjoying doing this whole thing cheat free. And I like Megan and Maggie a lot, too! _________________ Specializing in CC recolors, custom walls, prime real estate, Sim models and so much more. ... Always free - Updated weekly ... |
