PostSubject: Crabtree Talent Agency   Fri Jan 16, 2009 1:45 pm

After visiting the Simmerville site and seeing sims to sims magazines like STAR magazine, I decided I wanted to get involved too, so I made identities for a few of my Arrendale Heights actors and gave other players the opportunity to download others and make lives for the actors.

Then I started trading sims with other story writers who needed actors for their soaps, so I decided it would be fun to make a little online talent agency to keep track of who has been on what show and when. So I created Crabtree Talent Agency to showcase a few of my sim actors and models, to help them find work, and to draw in new clients. :)

That's really neat, Em. What a great idea. Sometimes I wish I could do a sim soap. I don't know how you guys do it - with so many characters whose lives cross over at different points in the story - how do you keep going so long and keep your ideas so fresh?

Oops, I put in the links, but they just blended in with the plain text. I boldened them, so you can find the links and see the site.

I really can't tell you how I've kept it going so long. A lot of it has to do with writing slower than I would like. A lot of the things that are happening now, I've been working towards from the very first episodes. Back when I was playing TS1 my characters had gotten married or remarried and had kids, so I'm working towards building those families. Then other ideas and twists come to me along the way as I'm working on the story. Like what's happening with Reese right now is something I was working towards all along, but Amanda's part in it is a new idea. What happens to Reese in the next episode or two is an even newer twist that came to me just recently.

You know how muses are, either they don't give you enough or they give you too much.

Can't wait to see what happens with Reese next!

I've been trying to wrap things up, but my brain/ muse keeps working like I'm going to continue straight on indefinitely. I almost have the next episode finished, but I kept getting new ideas for the ending. Then when I try to ignore the new ideas and keep going with what I've got, I can't seem to write anymore. Go figure. I think mine is just stubborn.

What an awesome idea, Em! Sometimes the creativity and imagination of you writers blows me away.
I love it!

The layout is really neat, too. It looks professional, like a true talent agency might have. Bravo!

Thanks! I can't take all the credit though. I was inspired by Simborough, who adopted a couple of my actors (the sims that play Cassie, Hector, and Craig, I think). They have a similar section on their site too.

I should go back and update with links to the other shows my sims have appeared in, so they're easier for people to find. I'll have to add some new actors at some point as well.
