| I'm going to post Chapter I in smaller segments, page by page, because otherwise it would probably take me a year to update again. So here is Chapter I-I "Remnants of Home." |

| I just finished reading Chapter 1 - Part 1 of Penelope's Journey. As always, your writing is so intelligently done and well thought out. I love how you set the stage, both the indoor and outdoor shots. I like your heroine's garb, too. It totally suits her. I feel badly for Penelope but can see she is determined to find the missing pieces of her life - her family - and bring them all together again. I enjoyed it, from start to finish, and look forward to continuing the journey with your leading lady. Job well done, m'dear! Bravo! _________________ Specializing in CC recolors, custom walls, prime real estate, Sim models and so much more. ... Always free - Updated weekly ... |

| Thanks so much for your wonderful encouraging comments. I was hoping the wording sounded ok. I wrote most of the first chapter and the prologue a long time ago, and my brain feels like mush today, so it was hard for me to tell. When I wrote it I wasn't neccessarily planning to have pictures with it, so I was trying to be descriptive so it could stand alone. Zayury's comments about the fire reminded me I have some pictures and a story to share about that. Talk about a disasterous photoshoot! It's a good thing we can always exit without saving. |

I agree with Hunter, Em. I most certainly wouldn't change a thing. You have a bright, descriptive way of drawing your readers in from the start. I also feel you are incredibly adept at giving us a FEEL for each of your cast members. When I first started reading AH, I really felt like I had a sense of each character's personality and what they were all about. In order for me to get into reading a story, I ALWAYS have to care somewhat about the folks IN the story. Otherwise, why would I give a rat's patootey about hearing what happens to them. | I love it, Em! You're such a pretty writer. I always enjoy reading your work, you're wonderfully descriptive of the surroundings and the characters' feelings. Nice job. Poor Penelope. I look forward to learning more about her and her scattered family, and following her on this journey. And I want to know what's in that box!! _________________ Real life gets in the way of my computer time My Story Blog |

I'm glad that you said that, Sugah. I've been thinking about the future of AH and about the characters in my next generation. I'm trying to make sure they're all unique from each other and that I have a strong sense of who they are and what they're about. It's good to know that you thought that about the original characters.
I agree. It definitely makes a difference in a story when you can really care about the characters. Ifnot, then what's the point in reading on, right?

It will all be revealed, eventually. Thanks for the compliments, Ari. I'm glad you're enjoying it. |

| I was going to update this the other day, but I've been having trouble logging into my file manager. I had to do update the links through ftp instead, which is kind of a pain. Anyway, here's the next installment. Chapter I-II "Old Rivalries" |

| Thanks, Hunter. I think I'm going to have to unmask those guys, especially the main bad guy, because I gave him the mask in CAS and I forget what he looks like. The big guy was a random townie. |

| Wow, Em! I don't know how I missed this update but am so glad I caught it this morning. Excellent job! Your screenshots are simply awesome. I LOVE how you have captured the time period so perfectly. I honestly feel I have been sent back in time with Penelope on her adventure. Every setting has been created with such care...from the background to the costumes. And I LOVE the facial expressions and moods captured in each shot. Everything is so well done, not to mention your intelligent, detailed style of writing. Thank you for sharing and keep up the great work, Emily. You are truly off to an intriguing most excellent start! _________________ Specializing in CC recolors, custom walls, prime real estate, Sim models and so much more. ... | Thanks for the kind compliments, Sugah and Ullwera. Filming on the slope was tricky, especially when I had to keep the roads out of the picture. I have several downloaded pose boxes that are a great help for getting sims in the right position and with the right facial expressions. I think I posted it when you were inbetween trips, Sugah. I was going to send you an update about it for Sugah's Place, but I've been busy and I know you have too. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I need to start thinking about the next part, editing the text. I have to redo the old hag's hair that I somehow neglected to backup before I reinstalled windows and settle on the casting for a certain part. I'm looking forward to the next part, because I had fun building the set, which I did quite awhile ago now. |
